Sun TV Says Maran Family Shareholding Dispute has been Resolved

Sun TV Network told stock exchanges that a shareholding dispute involving its promoter’s family has been settled, with all related legal notices withdrawn “unconditionally and irrevocably.”

The broadcaster clarified that the matter was “purely personal” and unrelated to its operations.

The row began when Lok Sabha MP Dayanidhi Maran accused his brother, Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran, of large-scale fraud in share allotments since 2003, alleging undervaluation, illegal transfers, and misuse of funds.

Dayanidhi had threatened action under multiple laws and before regulators. The company confirmed the issues now stand resolved and have no impact on corporate governance.
