Supreme Court Allows Amendment of Pleas Against Vantara Wildlife Centre, Sets August 25 Hearing

The Supreme Court described a plea seeking a monitoring committee to return captive elephants to their owners, and release other animals from Vantara Wildlife Centre as “completely vague.

A bench of Justices Pankaj Mithal and P.B. Varale noted the petitioner, C.R. Jaya Sukin, had not made Vantara a respondent and directed her to implead Vantara and file amended pleadings within five days.

A similar petition was tagged with it, and both will be heard together on August 25.
