The Supreme Court allowed Tamil magazine Nakkheeran to withdraw its transfer petition seeking to move a defamation case filed by the Isha Foundation from the Delhi High Court to the Madras High Court.
The case stems from allegedly defamatory articles published against the foundation, which is involved in body trade. A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi recorded the withdrawal without commenting on the merits.
Isha Foundation had opposed the transfer, emphasizing that the Delhi High Court was the appropriate jurisdiction. With the petition withdrawn, the Delhi High Court will continue hearing the matter. (Nakkheeran v Google India)
