The Supreme Court appointed retired Supreme Court judge Justice L. Nageswara Rao as the Ombudsman of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA).
This decision came while hearing a special leave petition against a Patna High Court order that had nullified the appointment of a different ombudsman.
The Supreme Court expressed dismay over “dirty politics” within the association, resulting in the misuse of public funds, and underscored the need for effective governance.
The court tasked Justice Rao with addressing alleged illegal activities by office bearers and ensuring smooth, interference-free functioning of the BCA.
