On July 4, 2025, the Supreme Court refused to entertain HDFC Bank CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan’s plea to quash an FIR filed by the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, citing the matter's pending status before the Bombay High Court.
Despite Jagdishan’s concerns over delays due to multiple judicial recusals, the bench led by Justices PS Narasimha and R Mahadevan held that it was improper to intervene at this stage.
The FIR accuses Jagdishan of accepting a ₹2.05 crore bribe and interfering in the Trust’s internal affairs.
The Court expressed hope that the Bombay High Court will hear the case as scheduled on July 14.
