The Supreme Court refused to quash a defamation case against actress-MP Kangana Ranaut over her 2020-21 tweet about a female protester.
The bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta rejected her plea under Section 482 CrPC.
The Court observed that her post was more than a simple retweet, stating she “added spice” to the content, making the case suitable for trial.
Counsel for Ranaut then withdrew the petition after the Court cautioned that comments may prejudice ongoing proceedings.
