The Supreme Court has ordered High Courts throughout the country to mention the dates on which the judgment was reserved, pronounced and uploaded in the certified copy, which is uploaded on the Court website.
The apex court has given High Courts four weeks to modify their formats accordingly.
The Court further ordered that the revised formats include a column specifying whether the copy contains only the operative part or the entire judgment.
The directive came in light of a case where the Jharkhand High Court delayed the verdict in three criminal appeals for nearly three years.
