The Supreme Court has ordered manual evaluation of NEET-UG 2025 candidate Robin Singh’s answer sheet after a stapling error led to a missequenced question paper.
A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and KV Viswanathan noted that the petitioner’s performance may have been affected. The Additional Solicitor General admitted that the error occurred due to the use of semi-literate staff to prevent paper leaks.
Justice Nagarathna stressed the importance of procedural fairness, adding that the student deserves to feel heard.
The Court directed the reevaluation to be completed within a week and posted the matter for further hearing on August 12.
