Supreme Court Flags Delays in Granting Bail for Minor Offences

The Supreme Court expressed concern over delays in granting bail to those accused of minor offences, triable by magistrates. In this case, the appellant was accused of fraudulent GST registrations using stolen PAN and Aadhaar details.

The Court questioned the prolonged incarceration of the accused, especially when co-accused had already been granted bail. The State requested time to explain why the appellant's case differs from co-accused.

The case is scheduled for further hearing on December 23.
