Supreme Court granted relief to disabled candidates for AIBE

The Supreme Court heard a petition from three visually impaired candidates regarding the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

Petitioners seek the use of screen reading software and independent answering, citing Ministry guidelines for exams for persons with disabilities.

The Court directed BCI to allow Job Access with Speech software, permit personal keyboards, and enable candidates to answer on the computer instead of using a scribe. BCI must complete the setup a day before the exam.
