Supreme Court Grants Interim Bail to Kerala Journalist TP Nandakumar in Defamation Case

The Supreme Court has granted interim anticipatory bail to Kerala-based journalist T.P. Nandakumar, known for his YouTube channel Crime Online, after the Kerala High Court denied relief.

A case was registered over a video allegedly containing objectionable remarks against a woman politician.

A vacation bench issued notice to the Kerala government and police, directing that Nandakumar be released on bail upon arrest, subject to furnishing bond and sureties and cooperating with the investigation. 

FIR charges include outraging a woman’s modesty under Section 75(1)(iv), criminal intimidation, dissemination of obscene electronic content under BNS, and Section 67 of the IT Act. The next hearing is scheduled six weeks later.
