Supreme Court Grants Interim Relief to Actor Shreyas Talpade in Cheating Cases

The Supreme Court has granted interim protection from arrest to actor Shreyas Talpade in multiple cheating and fraud cases linked to the Human Welfare Credit and Thrift Co-operative Society, part of the larger SAGA Group, which has been accused of duping several investors through fraudulent schemes. 

A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and K.V. Viswanathan prohibited coercive action and issued notices to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand police, seeking their responses before the next hearing scheduled for August 29, 2025.

Talpade has denied involvement in the scam, stating he only appeared as a guest at events and did not promote or manage the scheme.
