A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Centre’s mandate requiring all Waqf properties to be uploaded on the UMEED- Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development Portal.
The plea argues that the portal is technically defective, legally incompatible with State systems, and forces inaccurate declarations, especially in Madhya Pradesh, where most properties are Survey/Gazette-notified but the portal offers no such option.
It also highlights nationwide technical failures and low compliance despite statutory deadlines.
The petitioner seeks protection from penalties and a direction to fix the platform before enforcing the mandate.
