The Supreme Court exercised its extraordinary powers to dissolve the marriage and terminate several legal proceedings between a couple whose relationship deteriorated in 2020 after their marriage.
The wife accused her husband and his family of harassment, leading to multiple cases, including charges of cruelty and domestic violence.
The couple was entangled in 17 proceedings, the court advised, there is no point in contesting all these litigations, both the parties, to live peacefully and move forward in life.”
Using Article 142 of the Constitution, the court dissolved the marriage and ended all ongoing proceedings, ensuring neither side can make future claims.
