The Supreme Court expressed shock after learning that a man facing contempt proceedings for a child custody case traveled to the USA, despite having his passport in the Court's custody.
On January 29, the Court discovered that the man had left India, even though his passport was in the Court’s custody.
The Court issued a non-bailable warrant and directed the Home Ministry to investigate how the man left the country without his passport and Court approval.
The case originated from the man's failure to comply with child custody orders, missing hearings despite prior assurances from his counsel.
