Supreme Court Issues Guidelines for Legal Aid Lawyers and Prosecutors

The Supreme Court has issued new guidelines to ensure that legal aid services are effective and fair.

The Court emphasized that legal aid lawyers must provide quality assistance to protect the rights of underprivileged individuals. It also stressed the importance of fair trials, urging prosecutors to ensure all accused individuals receive a fair defence.

Additionally, the Court recommended that legal aid lawyers undergo proper training to improve their skills and handle cases effectively. It called for regular monitoring of their performance to ensure they are delivering the required standards of service. 

Finally, the Court encouraged better cooperation between prosecutors and legal aid lawyers to ensure justice is served for all.
