Supreme Court Lifts MP High Court Stay, Allows Paramedical Admissions for 2023–25

The Supreme Court has stayed the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s interim order that barred paramedical institutions, recognised in 2025, from conducting academic sessions for 2023–24 and 2024–25.

A bench led by CJI B.R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran questioned the propriety of the petition filed by law students, asking, “How can law students challenge this?

Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing the Registrar of the MP Paramedical Council, explained that COVID‑related delays and retrospective grants of recognition to 166 institutions necessitated the step.

The Court issued notices to the state and other respondents, allowing the admission process to resume while the final hearing proceeds.
