Supreme Court Publishes Entire Judges' Appointment Process, Assets of Judges in Public For Transparency

In a landmark step towards transparency, the Supreme Court of India has published the entire process of appointing High Court and Supreme Court judges on its official website.

This includes the roles assigned to the High Court Collegium, the State and Central governments, and consideration by the Supreme Court Collegium.

Details have been disclosed from November 9, 2022, to May 5, 2025, including service background, appointment dates, social category, and familial links to sitting or retired High Court or Supreme Court judges.

The Court has also uploaded the judges' assets and liabilities, marking a significant move towards judicial accountability and public awareness.
