Supreme Court Mandates Color Photographs for All Petitions, Rejects Black & White Images

The Supreme Court has directed its Registry to stop clearing petitions and documents filed with black and white photographs, mandating that Advocates-on-Record must submit color photographs for all filings.

The Court said that until properly colored photographs, appended with dimensions and a conceptual plan, are filed, the matter will remain in the category of "defects not cured".

It also directed that if photographs are filed electronically, AORs must simultaneously submit hard copies of the same. It aims to enhance identification accuracy and modernize record-keeping in the court's proceedings.

Notably, in September 2024, the Court restrained the Registry from accepting black and white photographs produced by parties without permission of Court.
