Supreme Court Seeks Centre’s Response on PIL for Neurodivergent Rights Reform

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Union Government in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the NGO Action for Autism.

The PIL advocates for systemic reforms to better protect and promote the rights of individuals with neurodivergent conditions such as autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.

The petition highlights significant gaps in the implementation of disability, mental health, and trust laws, urging a shift towards a rights-based governance model in alignment with India's international obligations.
