Supreme Court orders CBI Investigation into Advocate's Degree After University Denies Authenticity

The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to investigate the authenticity of an advocate’s Commerce degree after Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, declared it forged.

The decision was passed in case of an appeal against the decision of the Bar Council of India's Disciplinary Committee, where the authenticity of the degree was in question.

The petitioner had stated that the torn or missing records of the University hindered the verification process.

Following this, the Court has now ordered a CBI officer to be deputed and submit a report in the matter.
