Supreme Court Hands Over Telangana Lawyers’ Murder Case to CBI for Fresh Probe

The Supreme Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over and conduct further investigation into the 2021 murder of Telangana lawyers Gattu Vaman Rao and PV Nagamani.

The move follows a forensic report confirming the authenticity of a video of Vaman Rao’s alleged dying declaration, where he named people not listed among the accused.

The petition, filed by the father of one victim, claimed the local police probe was biased and incomplete.

While protecting the current accused from coercive action, the Court allowed the CBI to arrest any others found involved.
