Supreme Court Sends Delhi Judicial Officers for Training Over ‘Perverse’ Bail Order

The Supreme Court has directed two Delhi judicial officers to undergo special training at the Delhi Judicial Academy for passing a "perverse" order granting bail in a criminal case,  for a period of at least seven days.

The Supreme Court noted that the officers illegally released two accused without proper reasoning and applied incorrect legal principles.

The Court held that the orders showed a failure to apply the judicial mind and undermined justice.

The Court stressed that regular training is necessary to ensure judicial discipline in bail matters.
