SC Quashes Criminal Case Against Badminton Players Lakshya and Chirag Sen Over Age Fraud Allegations

The Supreme Court has quashed criminal proceedings against Indian badminton stars Lakshya Sen and Chirag Sen in an age-fabrication case.

A complaint by Nagaraja M.G. alleged that the players falsified birth records to gain unfair advantage in junior-level tournaments. However, the Court noted that the allegations were false and lacked criminal intent and had already been examined by relevant sports bodies.

Finding no grounds for prosecution, the Court ruled that criminal proceedings were unwarranted and ordered the FIR and related actions to be quashed.
