Supreme Court Questions Delay in FIR Probe Over Remarks on Col Sofiya Qureshi

The Supreme Court sharply criticised the Madhya Pradesh government for delays in investigating Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah over his controversial remarks against Army officer Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.

Hearing the matter, the Bench remarked “enough is enough” while expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of progress despite earlier directions.

The Court questioned why no concrete action had been taken and emphasised that public confidence in the justice system cannot be undermined by administrative inaction.

The case concerns allegedly objectionable comments made by the Minister targeting Col Qureshi, which triggered widespread criticism and legal proceedings seeking criminal action against him.
