The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea seeking age relaxation for displaced Kashmiri Pandits in central government jobs, stating that the community has already received significant benefits through existing rehabilitation policies.
A Bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta observed that such matters fall within the policy domain of the government, and the Court cannot interfere in the domain of the executive.
The court emphasised that further concessions could not be granted without violating constitutional principles of equality and merit-based recruitment.
The Court, however, was not inclined to issue any directions. Accordingly, finding no ground to interfere, the Bench dismissed the petition.
