The Supreme Court granted interim bail to 23-year-old social media influencer Harash Kumar, accused of raping a 40-year-old woman.
The Court observed that the relationship between the accused and the complainant appeared consensual at first glance, and said all circumstances must be carefully examined before deciding on continued custody.
The Court noted that he had been incarcerated for over nine months without charges being framed.
The Court remarked, “A single hand can’t clap,” and directed that Kumar be released on interim bail, subject to conditions, including refraining from contacting the complainant or misusing his liberty
The matter will be heard again after the police file their status report.
