Supreme Court Notifies 2nd and 4th Saturdays as Working Days From July 14

The Supreme Court (Amendment) Rules, 2025, notified on June 14, restore the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month (which were previously observed as off days) as working days for the Supreme Court registry and offices, effective from July 14, 2025. 

The amendment applies under Order II, Rules 1 to 3 of the Supreme Court Rules. On regular weekdays, offices will function from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with only urgent filings accepted after 4:30 PM.

On working Saturdays, office hours will be 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and urgent matters must be filed before 12:00 noon.

On holidays like Christmas and New Year, working hours on such days will be determined and notified by the CJI.
