The Supreme Court, under new CJI B.R. Gavai, has reversed certain aesthetic changes introduced during former CJI D.Y. Chandrachud’s tenure.
The Court ordered the removal of glass partitions installed in corridors for centralized air-conditioning, citing reduced space and lack of consultation.
It also restored the traditional national emblem on the Court’s website, replacing the blue insignia used during the institution’s 75th anniversary in 2024.
These changes aim to bring back the Court’s original look, improving both functionality and preserving its symbolic identity.
