Supreme Court Sets Up Special Bench for Old Motor Accident Cases, Criminal Appeals
The Supreme Court has formed a special bench to hear pending Motor Accident Claim Tribunal cases and Criminal Appeals.
The bench, comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria, will convene every Monday and Friday at 2:00 PM, starting 1 August 2025.
According to a notice issued on July 29, the initiative aims to expedite long-pending matters.
The Court has urged advocates, parties-in-person, and other stakeholders to avoid seeking adjournments to ensure effective case disposal. This move is part of the Court’s effort to clear backlogs in sensitive and delayed litigation.
