The Supreme Court came down heavily on former Union Minister and animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi for her remarks criticising the Court’s observations in the stray dogs case.
The bench flagged her “body language” and comments made during a podcast, stating that they prima facie amounted to contempt of court.

The Court clarified that its earlier observations on fixing responsibility on dog feeders were made seriously, not sarcastically, and cautioned against public commentary undermining judicial proceedings.
