The Supreme Court has pulled up Uttar Pradesh police for failing to arrest businessman Satinder Singh Bhasin after his bail was cancelled.
The bench suggested potential collusion and mandated authorities to act in aid of the apex court. Satinder Bhasin is the promoter of the ‘Grand Venice’ project, and faces 63 FIRs for siphoning funds and failing to settle allottee claims.
The Court ordered the UP DGP to ensure immediate compliance, directed the freezing of Bhasin’s assets, and ordered a nationwide airport alert.
The State must also initiate proceedings under the BNSS, 2023.
