Supreme Court Takes Suo Motu Cognisance of Brutal Assault on Woman Advocate

The Supreme Court initiated a suo motu case following the brutal stabbing of a woman advocate, allegedly by her husband.

The bench acted on reports that the victim, a Karkardooma Courts practitioner, was attacked multiple times on April 25.

The Court expressed grave concern over allegations that three hospitals refused her emergency treatment due to her critical condition. Directing the Delhi Police to transfer the probe to a senior woman officer and ordered an immediate search for the victim’s two missing children.

Additionally, NALSA was directed to provide interim financial assistance for her medical care.
