Supreme Court to Decide Whether Law Students Can be Debarred from Exams over Attendance Shortage
The Supreme Court is set to examine whether law students can be barred from appearing in examinations solely due to shortage of attendance.
The matter came before the Court in a challenge to a judgment of the Delhi High Court, which had held that students cannot be stopped from taking examinations solely on account of low attendance.
The Supreme Court, for the present, declined to stay the High Court ruling and issued notice in the matter.
The case concerns interpretation of attendance requirements applicable to law students and related university regulations.
