Supreme Court to hear plea alleging child swap case in Raipur Hospital

The Supreme Court agreed to examine a plea by parents seeking criminal action against a Raipur private hospital for allegedly swapping their boy child with a girl after delivery.

Justices Manoj Kumar and Ujjal Bhuyan heard the challenge to a Chhattisgarh High Court order that dismissed the request to register an FIR against the hospital director and his gynaecologist wife.

The petitioners claimed DNA tests confirmed only one child matched them, proving it was a case of child swapping. They argued the High Court ignored critical aspects by relying solely on a doctor’s inquiry report.

The case will be heard after four weeks.
