Supreme Court to Hear Plea on JEE Advanced Attempt Limit

Supreme Court to Hear Plea on JEE Advanced Attempt Limit

  • Case Name: Mithin Mondal & Ors. V. UOI & Ors.
  • Judge(s): Justices B.R. Gavai and A.G. Masih

The Supreme Court will hear writ petitions challenging the Joint Admission Board’s decision to reduce attempts for JEE Advanced from three to two.

Though listed, the case, led by petitioners Mithin Mondal and Ors., was deferred as the bench of Justices B.R. Gavai and A.G. Masih was hearing another matter.

Petitioners argue for restoring the earlier three-attempt limit, citing a November 5, 2024, Press Release that briefly allowed it before being rescinded.

Registration for JEE Advanced 2025 begins soon, with the exam scheduled for May 18. The Court is expected to hear the matter on 9th Jan.
