The Supreme Court will hear a writ petition filed by Vodafone Idea Limited on October 27, challenging additional demands raised by the Department of Telecommunications towards Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues for FY 2016–17.
Vodafone argued that these fresh demands violate the Supreme Court’s orders of July and September 2020, which had finalised all liabilities for the period.
In July 2021, the Court had rejected requests for recomputation, ruling that no reassessment of dues would be allowed.
Vodafone has sought the quashing of the new demands or a fair reconciliation of accounts.
