Supreme Court to Examine Fairness of Probe Into Air India Crash That Killed 260 in Ahmedabad

The Supreme Court has agreed to review whether the investigation into the June 12 Air India Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people, is fair, impartial, and speedy.

The court issued notices to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) following a PIL by Safety Matters Foundation.

The NGO flagged concerns over selective disclosure by AAIB, premature blame on pilot error, and overlooked technical faults related to the Boeing Dreamliner.

While declining full public disclosure of probe materials, the court stressed that the investigation must remain free from conflicts of interest and move forward without delay..
