Supreme Court to Deliver Verdict on Plea to Stay Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 Today

The Supreme Court will announce its decision today (Sep 15) regarding a plea to stay the implementation of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025. 

The law, which introduces major changes to the governance and administration of Waqf properties, has been challenged for alleged constitutional violations and procedural irregularities. 

Petitioners argue the amendments grant excessive powers to the state and infringe on rights.

The Court will decide whether the Act should remain in force until a full hearing on its validity takes place.
