Supreme Court Upholds ₹3,500 Fee for All India Bar Examination

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea challenging the ₹3,500 fee for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), stating that the cost is justified given the expenses involved in conducting a pan-India examination.

The court emphasised that the fee ensures the Bar Council of India (BCI) can maintain examination standards, infrastructure, and accessibility.

The court reinforces the BCI’s authority to set reasonable fees for professional certification, ensuring quality in the legal profession. Ultimately, the bench dismissed the plea.
