Supreme Courts Appoints Justice Dhulia to Resolve Kerala University Vice-Chancellor Appointment Deadlock

The Supreme Court has appointed retired Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia to chair the search-cum-selection committee for appointing vice-chancellors to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and the Digital University.

The court, noting an impasse between the Governor (as Chancellor) and the Kerala government, urged both sides to cooperate and resolve the deadlock at the earliest.

Justice Dhulia may form separate or joint committees, finalising membership based on lists from both parties, at his discretion.

The committee must submit a panel of at least three names per university, ideally within a month. The court emphasised that larger issues will be taken up once this process is complete.
