Surrender by 4 PM: Delhi High Court Orders Actor Rajpal Yadav to Jail in Cheque Bounce Case

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to grant any extension to actor Rajpal Yadav to surrender in a cheque bounce case and directed him to surrender before the jail superintendent by 4 PM on February 4.

The Court noted that the direction to surrender was issued only after Yadav repeatedly failed to comply with assurances made regarding payment and settlement.

It observed that despite the suspension of his six-month sentence earlier, Yadav did not pay the amounts promised, nor did he take steps to rectify errors in payment.

The Court deprecated his conduct and found no grounds to show further leniency.
