The Telangana High Court partly allowed an appeal filed by a woman convicted for stabbing her husband during a domestic quarrel and reduced her sentence while maintaining the conviction.
The incident took place during an argument at the wife’s parental home, where the husband suffered fatal injuries after being stabbed in the neck.
The Court observed that the incident arose out of a sudden quarrel between the couple and was not pre-planned.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the Court modified the sentence imposed by the trial court and reduced the period of imprisonment to 4 years while also directing payment of fine.
