Telangana High Court Refuses Interim Protection to Union Minister’s Son in POCSO Case

The Telangana High Court has refused to grant interim protection from arrest to Bandi Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

During a late-night hearing, the Court observed that after examining the victim’s statement, it was not inclined to pass any interim order at this stage.

The case was registered based on allegations made by the mother of a 17-year-old girl accusing Bageerath of sexual harassment.

The Court is expected to pass further orders on the anticipatory bail plea on the next hearing date.
