Telangana High Court Bans Late-Night Theatre Entry for Children U-16s, State to Issue Guidelines

The Telangana High Court has issued interim directions restricting children below 16 years from entering theatres/multiplexes after 11 PM.

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy directed the Home Department to consult stakeholders and issue necessary instructions on this matter. The order was passed in a writ petition challenging the benefit shows and ticket price hikes for the movie Game Changer.

The Court emphasized public safety, citing a prior stampede incident during Pushpa-2.

The State assured that future benefits and early morning shows would only be permitted after considering the public interest. The Court highlighted the need to prioritize children’s safety and regulate their viewing timings.
