Punjab & Haryana High Court Asks Punjab Govt To Regulate Spa Centres Amid Prostitution Racket Concerns

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has directed the Punjab Government to frame guidelines/policy for regulating spa and massage centres, citing misuse of such establishments for prostitution and immoral/human trafficking. 

The Court emphasized the importance of safeguarding women staff and curbing illegal activities under the guise of wellness services. It ordered the state to complete the policy-making process within three months and submit a status report.

The petition was filed by owners of beauty parlors, massage, and spa in Jalandhar, seeking protection from police interference in their legitimate businesses.
