Trial Court Refuses Prajwal Revanna’s Second Bail Plea in Rape Case, Affirms Sessions Court Restriction

A Bengaluru trial court has rejected former MP Prajwal Revanna’s second bail petition in a high-profile case alleging multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

This follows the Karnataka High Court’s earlier denial of his anticipatory bail pleas.

The court emphasized that Revanna must follow proper procedure by first approaching the trial court before filing any petition in the High Court. Trial Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat directed the court to consider any future bail applications afresh.

The trial court had reserved its verdict on July 18, which is scheduled to be pronounced on July 30.
