Lok Sabha Speaker Appoints 2 Lawyers For Advice on Justice Yashwant Varma Removal Process

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, has formally engaged advocates Rohan Singh and Sameeksha Dua as consultants in the committee formed to initiate the process of removal of Justice Yashwant Varma from judgeship.

An in-house committee formed by the Supreme Court had earlier charged the judge and recommended his removal, following which, the Central Government has moved a motion to impeach the judge.

The move comes in light of the discovery of cash at the judge's official residence when he was posted in the Delhi High Court.
