
On June 6, 2025, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the UMEED Central Portal, a digital portal for real-time uploading, verification, and tracking of Waqf properties.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs launched the portal to increase transparency, accountability, and public engagement in Waqf asset management.
The portal key features include geo-tagging of properties, online redressal of grievances, transparent leasing and usage tracking, GIS integration, and access by the public to verified records.
Minister George Kurian highlighted its role in curbing misuse, while Secretary Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar emphasized its potential to support education, healthcare, and welfare for underprivileged Muslims.
