Uttarakhand CM Announces UCC Implementation During Auspicious Makar Sankranti Phase

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) during the auspicious phase beginning with Makar Sankranti. The exact date will be revealed later this month as personnel training for execution nears completion. 

Introducing the UCC was a major BJP pre-poll promise in 2022, contributing to its electoral victory.

CM Dhami emphasized the importance of the Uttarayani festival and expressed confidence in public support for BJP candidates in upcoming urban local body polls on January 23.

Dhami also celebrated Uttarakhand hosting the National Games, with PM Modi set to inaugurate the event on 28 January.
